Child Safety Standards
Toehold has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Adults only. Toehold is for people 18 and over. Accounts we believe belong to minors are removed.
- Limited interaction by design. People interact only inside rooms they join with a code, through a first name and one line of text about what they’re working on. There are no direct messages, images, voice or open chat.
- Prohibited content. Any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children is prohibited. So are attempts to contact or groom minors.
- Reporting. Anyone in a room can be reported or blocked from the room screen. You can also report concerns to with “Child safety report” in the subject. We review reports promptly.
- Action. We remove violating content and accounts and preserve relevant information. Where we have actual knowledge of CSAM, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant authorities, in line with applicable law.
